Dear Mabon,
I have read with some interest regarding your ideas for Llangollen. It is with some regret that I must inform you that the proposals which you are supporting are not in line with the majority of the residents of Llangollen. I was born and bred in Llangollen and moved away to join the Royal Air Force in 1969 in which I served for 30 yrs. I now live in Portsmouth and regulary visit my brother and sister who live in Llangollen. To say that the town has gone down hill is somewhat of an understatement and no matter which road you approach the town from you are greeted with an eyesore. Coming up the A5 from Chirk this first thing you see is Tyn a Wern (closed down) and then the dreadfully dreary Craig y Don. Coming from the oppsite direction (Corwen) you are greeted first by a dericlt factory on the right side followed by another shambles on the left side, travel a little further and you are met with the derilict remains of the old Jones Garage,. And if you you look ahead and slightly to the left you will see a Kebab shop, and what an absolutely eyesore that is. Coming from Wrexham on the A483 you will pass the River Lodge another eyesore, and no ,the shaolin monk will not make a difference to it. So in closing , Sir, I would request that you contact me for details of my brother who still lives in Llangollen who would repectfully put you on the same wave length as the majority of the real welsh local inhabitants.
With best regards
